About the Topic
ACI Committee 301 recently completed a comprehensive revision to the content of ACI 301- Specifications for Concrete Construction. This update expanded the scope of ACI 301 and revised many of the requirements that have been in previous editions for many years. The goal of this session is to show how the design and construction team should use ACI 301 when it is referenced in project specifications. Understanding the relationship between ACI codes and specifications is emphasized. Topics include modifications to many of the default requirements within the specification and an introduction to new topics.
About the Speaker
Michelle L. Wilson, FACI, is Sr. Director of Cement and Concrete Technology at the Portland Cement Association (PCA), Skokie, IL. She has over 20 years of experience relating to concrete materials, specifications, performance, troubleshooting, and repair. She is co-author of PCA’s Design and Control of Concrete Mixtures.
Michelle L. Wilson is a past member of ACI’s Board of Direction and a Fellow of the Institute. Ms. WIlson served as chair of ACI Committee 301, Specifications for Structural Concrete, during the 2016-2020 document cycle. She is a member of ASTM International Committee C09, Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, and serves on the C09 Executive Committee. She is also a regular presenter at the World of Concrete.
